Cincinnati Reds Winter Camps are back for their 3rd year! Over the past 13 years, the Reds have built one of the finest youth camp programs in the country. And we are excited to continue to build on the success with our Winter Camps. We’ve designed the perfect plan to prepare your young athlete for the upcoming season. Through a progressive curriculum that targets pitching, hitting, fielding or catching, we can help him or her hit the diamond with a solid foundation. The timing is right. The instruction is proven. Youth Baseball League
Columbus Parks & Recreation Department offers a spring youth baseball season for youth ages 4-14. Our mission is to ensure that each participant registered for our program has a safe, fun, and enriching experience with baseball.
We invite you to register your child for one of the following spring division offerings: T-ball (Ages 4-5), Jr Coach Pitch (Ages 5-6), Machine Pitch (Ages 7-8), Minor (Ages 9-10), Major (Ages 11-12), and Senior (Ages 13-14).

Youth Basketball
The National Basketball Academy Basketball Camp

Two sessions to choose from: June 23-June 27 | July 21-July 25
The National Basketball Academy camps are week long sessions of concentrated basketball training and involve a lot of individual skill development; but for competitive aspects, campers are grouped by age and skill level whenever possible. We will break the game down while enhancing specific skills in all areas needed to be an effective basketball player and have fun. Then, we will take those abilities and apply them in daily competitions. Each participant will be placed on a team so he or she improves as an individual and as a team mate.

IUC High School Boys Advanced Skills Camp

The IUC High School Boys Advanced Skills Camp is designed for potential student athletes who are interested in playing collegiate basketball. IUC staff will deliver on court instruction over 2 days. Campers will have the opportunity to perform many of the skills and drills incorporated daily. Additionally, campers will be evaluated by the IUC coaching staff during games as campers compete with and against some of the top prospects in the region.

Youth Fencing
Ages 7+ | Monthly | The REC at NexusPark
En Garde! Are you ready to discover the historic sport of fencing? Join our partners with the Salle de Lutins Fencing Club for a session of fencing. Get an introduction and training in a unique and fun Olympic sport! Students will receive instruction on form, technique, and how to properly engage in a bout. Equipment can be rented for $20 during the class. Fencing sessions run monthly.

Kickball Buddies

Kickball Buddies is a 2 week program for kids/young adults with special needs who would like to learn how to play kickball and want to make new friends! Participants are paired with buddies that will assist with skills such as kicking, running the bases, and fielding. 2025 Spring Youth Kickball League

This will be a 6-week season with no post season tournament. Practices are projected to start the week of Wednesday, April 2nd. Once games start, there will be no more scheduled practices. Games will be played on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Age will be determined as of April 1, 2025 for all divisions.

Youth Rugby
Spring Rookie Rugby
Ages 7-12 | April 8 – May 17 | McCullough’s Run Park | $50
Rookie Rugby is for children ages 7-12. Rookie Rugby is a non-tackle (flags) co-ed sport where young athletes can experience the fun of rugby in a safe and controlled manner. We teach the athletes about the basics of how to play rugby on both offense and defense.
No experience is needed as we will help train your child. Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States with many high schools, universities and professional teams being formed. Rookie Rugby teams will consist of a minimum of 7 players but no more than 10 players per team. For any questions, please contact Michael Shepherd at columbusrugbyfootballclub@gmail.com.
- Practice: Every Tuesday/Thursday at McCullough’s Run from 5-6pm
- Games: All games will be played at the rugby field at McCullough’s Run every Saturday April 19 – May 17 (4 games).
- Required Equipment: Pair of cleats (soccer, football or rugby cleats) and running shorts. Team t-shirt is included in the cost.

Our mission is to ensure that each participant registered for our program has a safe, fun, and enriching experience with soccer. We follow our Youth Sport Code of Conduct and hold participants, coaches and parents alike accountable for following this code of conduct.

Are you or someone you know, 14 years or older and interested in learning more about becoming a soccer referee?
I’m interested, what do I need to do?
- Be 14 years or older.
- Email Collin Lollar at clollar@columbus.in.gov by March 21 with your name, phone number and best email address and let him know you are interested in becoming a referee!
- All first time referee’s need to show up to an on-field training on March 25 at the Circle K Fieldhouse. In addition, all first time referees must watch 20 short videos ahead of the training. You can access these videos about the rules of soccer here. Be sure to watch the referee signal training at the end!

Join us for an International Soccer Camp without leaving your area! Coached by the team of international and US-based staff, Challenger’s week-long half day and full day soccer camps improve your child’s soccer skills whilst providing a unique cultural experience. Rooted in British training methodology, these camps introduce international training tactics to campers across the U.S and Canada. The curriculum and coaching foundation meets engaging delivery for an all-around positive experience.
Challenger channels their energy and passion for the game into a fun yet developmental environment. As industry experts, they have crafted an approach which uses methodologies from all around the world to truly reflect the global nature of the sport today. They use age appropriate practices to help players develop at their own pace, learn brand new skills and become an all-round better player…while having an amazing time with their international coaching staff!
Includes an educational approach that uses soccer to teach the core values of responsibility, integrity. respect, sportsmanship and leadership. Most camps will include a free soccer ball, jersey and certificate, as well as other early registration incentives. Please note that there will be a $10 late fee at most of the camp sites for campers registering within 10 days of the camp start date. Indy Eleven presents a unique opportunity for young soccer players to receive training from Indiana’s only professional soccer club. Our mission is to enhance the development of our youth, increase their confidence and their overall understanding and enjoyment of the game of soccer.
Indy Eleven camps provide training sessions based on soccer fundamentals to develop players’ skills and technique. The soccer training delivered allows participants to express their full technical, tactical, and physical potential, regardless of skill level. We strive to provide a healthy and enthusiastic learning environment where participants will be driven to learn about game vision, teamwork, and effort. Training groups will be created based on age, level, and skills. Daily trainings will include specific sessions focusing on ball
control, dribbling, passing, shooting, attacking, defending, and teamwork. Small-sided and full-sided games will take place daily during the week to focus on game-like situations, while applying topics learned.

Our mission is to offer a tennis experience that will encourage all participants to pursue the sport of a lifetime, tennis! See you on the courts! All classes held at Burnett Tennis Courts at Donner Park.
Columbus Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of adult and youth tennis programs adults for both City of Columbus residents and non-residents. Programs are taught by our USTPA certified Director of Tennis, Mike Burt. All programs are held at the Burnett Tennis Courts (Donner Park) unless otherwise noted. Please bring your own tennis racket.

The Columbus City Open
This Tennis Open is available to singles and doubles, both men and women, and for both adults and juniors (including beginners).
Registration deadline: July 11, midnight for Juniors and July 21, midnight for Adults

Columbus Youth Volleyball Co-Ed Camp

The camp goes over the basics of volleyball in addition to some more advanced skills and game play strategy. We invite all participants (boys and girls) grades 1-9 to register for this camp to be held at Circle K Fieldhouse at Nexus Park.

Come join Nike Volleyball in Columbus, Indiana for our volleyball skills camp! This camp provides a fun environment to improve your skills and enjoy time on the court. Choose from a variety of programs designed by former Division I head volleyball coach, James Finley. Campers will have fun and build confidence on the court with a great coaching staff supporting them!

Chuck Wilt Youth Scholarship Program
Recipients of the Chuck Wilt Youth Scholarship Program can be approved for $200.00 per child per calendar year. If you do not use the full $200.00 by December 31, the balance will go back into the scholarship program. Families can apply each calendar year.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the Chuck Wilt Youth Scholarship Program, all families must show proof of residency in Bartholomew County and proof that the child is under their care (School document, Medical or Insurance document, Birth Certificate, Social Security card, Hoosier Healthwise card, most recent 1040 with dependents).
Families will also need to show proof of receiving at least one of the following:
- Social Security Supplemental or Disability Income
- Public assistance through the Division of Family Resources, i.e., Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Food Stamps
- Free lunch assistance through the local schools
- Public assistance through the City of Columbus Housing Authority
- Hoosier Healthwise Card
OR - If a family has foster children in their household, we will need to see foster paperwork.
Guidelines:
- Scholarship Amount – Individuals are eligible for a maximum of $200.00 per child for the calendar year.
- Scholarships will be awarded only as funds are available.
- Children under the age of 18 are eligible for a scholarship.
- Eligible programs – All Parks and Recreation programs. Scholarship does not cover season passes, private instruction, daily admission, equipment rentals and tickets to local events.
- Families residing in Bartholomew County are eligible.
- Scholarships are available for immediate members of a family or foster children who live with the family throughout the year. Scholarships are not available for friends or relatives visiting or staying for a period of time. Scholarships for such individuals should be submitted by the parent/guardian for that family, if applicable.
- Approval of the scholarship is subject to verification of the information provided with the application.
- Applicants will receive notification or approval or denial via phone within 7 business days from the date of the application.
- The Columbus Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to revoke admission to a facility, program, or activity for misuse or cause.
