Aquatics Birthday Tent Rental

Celebrate your birthday during our regular public swim sessions! Each rental includes a pop-up tent, picnic tables, and the option to bring your own food and beverages (no glass containers). We host up to two parties per session—one near the Main Pool and one near the Leisure Pool. While your tent will be in a specific area, you’re welcome to enjoy the entire facility during your celebration. Parties must be reserved in advance.

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 1-6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12-6p

Fee: $100 (plus tax) for 10 children and 2 adults

Additional children and adults pay regular public admission fees:

  • Children (ages 2 or under): Free
  • Children (Ages 3-17): $6
  • Adults: $7

No birthday tents rentals: May 30 – June 1 & August 6-8

Gymnastics Birthday Rentals

Gymnastics Parties/Rentals provide many fun activities for children including trampolines, foam pits, balance beams, trampoline, and more!

Birthday Party Reminders:

  • Party hosts will be allowed to come in 15 minutes before the scheduled party time to set up.
  • Party participants will not be allowed in the activity space until it is time for the party to start. Supervisors will go over rules with party participants before any activities are started.
  • All party hosts will be asked to begin clean up of their party approximately 10 minutes before the end of the rental time. This includes putting away all mats & equipment in the activity space.
  • All party activities including cake/presents MUST be completed within your rental time inside the Gymnastics Center. Party activities may not take place in the lobby of Foundation for Youth.
  • All food, drink & present opening must stay in the bleacher/viewing space. No food, drink, or present opening will be allowed in the carpeted activity space.
  • Supervisors reserve the right to ask participants to discontinue any activity they deem unsafe.
  • Stacking of barrels, mats, donuts (gymnastics equipment) & jumping off them is NOT allowed at any time. This is a safety issue and can lead to damage to the equipment.
  • Clean up trash is the renter’s responsibility.
  • No piñatas, please!
  • No alcohol allowed!

Cancellation Policy:

A deposit of 50% of the fee is due at the time of booking with the remaining balance due 7 days prior to the date of the rental. For parties cancelled 30 days or more before a party date a refund will be issued minus a $50 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued if the rental is cancelled with

Hamilton Room and Ice Rentals

If you are interested in rental a room and/or sheet of ice for a private event, please fill out an HCCIA Facility Request Form. A staff member will review your form, check availability, and contact you in a timely manner.

Room Rentals

Miller-Tangeman Room & Hashman Terrace
This bright community room can be transformed to fit the needs of a wide variety of events. The floor-to-ceiling glass patio doors open up to the recently renovated Hashman where guests can relax and mingle in the fresh air. We have hosted monthly board meetings, business trainings, retirement parties, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, wedding receptions, and so much more. The Miller-Tangeman room can accommodate up to 40 people, and the terrace adds another 30 people to that capacity when in use. Noise-reducing doors close the room off from the rest of the building. A detached kitchen containing a refrigerator, ice machine, sinks and counter space is available for use with the rental of this space.

Fireside Community Room, Miller Tangeman Room & Hashman Terrace Combination
In the winter, there are few better places to meet than around a warm fireplace. This open, spacious area can host a variety of gatherings, from networking events and reunions to weddings and receptions with up to 100 guests. Noise-reducing doors close off the space from the busy daily ice schedule. A kitchen containing a refrigerator, ice machine, sinks and counter space is available for use with the rental of this space.

Event Room
This room, just steps from the large ice sheet, is great for small gatherings that include time on the ice, or for groups that may find use in the large floor to ceiling mirrors. The Event Room accommodates 20-25 people dependent on the layout of the event.

Ice Rentals for Preschools/Schools

  • Schools in the Bartholomew County School Corporation can enjoy one hour once a year of free ice time with the option of 1 additional hour of skating at a discounted $110/hour fee. A skate rental fee of $3/child will be assessed the day of the rental.
  • Schools outside the Bartholomew County School Corporation can enjoy a discounted fee of $110/hour. A skate rental fee of $3/child will be assessed the day of the rental.
  • All preschools can enjoy a reduced ice fee of $40/hr for the small or large ice rink (depending on group size) IF students and chaperones are wearing their gym shoes. If the group chooses to wear skates instead, the flat fee is waived and the group will pay the $3/pair rate for rental skates. Up to 12 scooters will be available for the children to hold on to.

Birthday Party Rentals

The Silver Party
This package takes includes admission for 10 skaters during one of our two hour public sessions and the use of our Event Room, located at the west end of the ice rink, throughout the session. Up to 15 additional skaters may join for a fee of $5 per skater, including skate rental. We provide enough tables and chairs to accommodate your party size.

If you are interested in renting Mill Race Park, please fill out a request form. A Parks and Recreation staff member will get into contact with you after  your request has been reviewed. If your event will involve over 250 people or alcohol, you will need to fill out a City of Columbus Downtown Events Application. Our staff will let you know if that is needed.

NexusPark Meeting Room Rentals

There are three sections of meeting room at NexusPark: Jim Lienhoop Meeting Room A, Taylor Bros. Construction Meeting Room B, and Henderson Family Meeting Room C. Rooms can be rented individually or combined and are subject to 7% sales tax. Building hours are 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. The rooms include, connection to a TV microphone and speaker for virtual meetings and videos as well as a microphone.

Shelter Rentals

Donner Park Shelter

The Donner Park Shelter can be rented by the quarter or as a whole. Each section has picnic tables and can hold approximately 50 people. The NE and NW sections are closer to the stage and the SE and SW sections are closer to the playground. Rentals are for a full day and are subject to 7% sales tax. Mill Race Park Shelters

There are three shelters at Mill Race Park: the Boat Ramp Shelter, the River Vista Shelter, and the Playground Shelter. The Boat Ramp and Playground Shelters can hold about 20 people each and the River Vista can hold about 30 people. All shelters have electricity and a built in charcoal grill. Outdoor Sports Facility Rentals

There are a number of facilities that contain diamonds, courts and fields available for rent within the department. While we prioritize the rental of those spaces around our parks department run recreational leagues, and our contracts with our user groups, there are options available for private rentals.

Plan Your Outdoor Tournament

The department is very fortunate to have first-class facilities and crew, and as such, are able to run first-class tournaments each year in cooperation with our professional Tournament Directors! As a department we host and hold tournaments for baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse and rugby. While the benefits to the department, City of Columbus, and Bartholomew County (in addition to surrounding counties) are countless, we wanted to share some highlights with you!

  • National Exposure – Teams travel from all over to participate in our events annually not just because of our facilities but also the welcoming environment of the City of Columbus.
  • Economic Impact – On average, a direct spending impact to Bartholomew County of over $12 million dollars occurs annually. Of that $12 million dollars, approximately $8.5 million is generated as a result of sports events hosted by our department. Our events bring in almost 65,000 visitors to Bartholomew County. This all translates to an increase in business to our hotels, restaurants and businesses in the community.
  • Recognition – The Lincoln Park Complex was recognized by both the National Softball Association (NSA) and USSSA, as complex of the year. Each year, staff is recognized for their efforts in diamond and turf management and are continually told by tournament directors that their efforts are second to none.
