Columbus Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to close this facility if we deem necessary due to individuals not respecting guidelines established as indicated below.

Field/Complex Rules

  • Social distancing of 6 foot by all individuals in the complex EXCEPT those that have been quarantined in the same household.
  • Face coverings are highly recommended when you cannot practice social distancing of 6 feet.
  • Do NOT come to the complex if you:
    • Have COVID-19 symptoms, which include a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
    • Have been in contact with anyone that has had COVID-19 within the past 2 weeks.
    • Are a high-risk individual and your local health and government officials are directing you to stay home (high-risk individuals include those 65+ and people with serious underlying health conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and illnesses that compromise breathing or the immune system).
  • Abide by the maximum social gathering sizes WHILE ensuring your are practicing social distancing (it is not an either or)
  • Wash your hands and use sanitizer, both frequently. Individuals should bring their own hand sanitizer.
  • Use the restroom before leaving home
  • Bring your own water or alternate hydration bottle
  • Sneeze or cough only into a tissue or your elbow
  • Limit your time at the facility so that you arrive just before you event begins to decrease gatherings
  • Avoid touching frequently used surfaces such as water fountains, gates, fences, nets, benches, handles, bathrooms/fixtures, etc.
  • Shower and wash and change your clothes immediately upon returning home.

Programs Rules (Adult & youth recreational, travel and permitted uses must follow these guidelines)

  • No canopies will be set up and there will be a restriction around the concessions awning (reduce gathering spaces)
  • Dugouts will be sanitized according to the latest CDC guidance on the life of the virus on surfaces (fence, team benches, posts leading out)
  • Where drinking fountains exist, they will not be in use.
  • Limited contact between umpires and coaches.
  • Recommend that only two coaches be allowed in a dugout.
  • No seating in the outfield behind any temporary fencing.
  • Players should not be allowed to share equipment.
  • No handshaking, high fiving, hugging, prayer lines etc.
  • No gum or sunflower seeds along with anything else that can be transferred from the mouth while playing.
  • All teams will be made to clean dugouts up after finishing their games.
  • All players must provide a bottle of their own hand sanitizer.
  • Allow players to wear batting gloves while in the field.
  • Restrict huddles before games, between innings or after games.
  • Restrict conferences allowed except with coach and pitcher and suggest using a mask to talk when they do.
  • Station umpires according to your sanctioned bodies requirements or guidelines.
  • Recommend no gate to be taken at entry of park.

Concessions Rules

  • Counter tops and other public fixtures will be regularly disinfected following use by patrons and staff.
  • All patrons are to stay 6’ apart ordering and receiving food due to social distancing.
  • Concession staff will be provided and required to use PPE while on duty.
  • Stations for staff will ensure that those handling payment will not be the same staff preparing food and drink.
  • A sneeze guard between staff and customers will be put in place to ensure sanitary barrier.
  • Max # of ppl per shift to allow for social distancing at each station in the concession stand if someone is present that cannot wear a face covering.

Restrooms at Diamond Complexes

  • Per CDC guidelines for Parks and Recreation Administrators, restrooms should be:
    • Cleaned and disinfected regularly, particularly high-touch surfaces as faucets, toilets, doorknobs, and light switches. Clean and disinfect restrooms daily or more often if possible.
    • Operational with functional toilets.
    • Regularly stocked with supplies for handwashing, including soap and materials for drying hands or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
